Barnsley Accordion Club The club formerly met at about 8pm on the first Wednesday of each month at Barnsley Trades and Labour Club, Racecommon Road, Barnsley, South Yorkshire From October 2003 however it will be around 8pm on the First Tuesday of the month so that we will continue to retain the best facilities for our meetings at the Trades Club and hopefully see the occasional return of any members who now have something else to do on a Wednesday. |

The Newsletter November 2003
Barnsley Accordion Newsletter November 2003 has been written by Chairman Peter Hinchliffe below IMPORTANT For this meeting we need to know how many members and wives will be attending so we have some idea of how many people we have to cater for, as a buffet is being provided by the club stewardess. Remember, this time there is no need to bring your own food! We are also hoping we may be able to get a guest artiste (probably the great Harry Hussey) to play for us, as we think this was arranged and promised to happen quite some time ago. To all members, former members, wives an friends of Barnsley Accordion Club, please inform the Accordion Club committee if you are coming to the Christmas Party meeting as we now need to know for catering purposes Please Contact one of these to confirm your Xmas party visitor
numbers LAST MEETING HAPPENINGS As due to a state of confusion on the date of our meeting there was a big club concert on that night, we waited a short time chatting in the lounge and then went upstairs - we have never missed a meeting yet, even when this has happened. We were able to start our meeting with a short discussion, followed by a session of solos, fellow member Stuart played a solo spot giving quite a good performance to say that he has only been learning a very short while, well done Stuart kep up the good work, your performance proves that with practice it is possible to learn to play and also encouraging to our other novice members. PETER.
