When do They meet?
From December 2003 the club once again meets at about 8pm on the First Wednesday of the month at Barnsley Trades and Labour Club, Racecommon Road, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

How Do I Get There?
The Trades and Labour Club is very easy to find from local towns and is only a mile from Junction 37 of the M1 (the A637 exit for Manchester and Barnsley)

What Happens at Meetings?
What apart from the human sacrifices you mean? Only joking, honest!

Our meetings are fairly typical of most accordion clubs, and may include a round robin with time for a  tune from everyone, sometimes group practice of a new band arrangement or a short busking session, and of course on special occasions a guest artiste or even a buffet.

Do I Qualify to Come?
Of course you do, passive listeners are welcome too.You do not have to be a member of the club to visit us and we guarantee to make you feel welcome at our very friendly club

Cost?
Admission is free, but we do request you to buy a £1 ticket in our raffle towards club funds which is drawn at the meeting.

When you begin coming to meetings regularly we ask for a membership fee of £5 per year . You will then receive our monthly newsletter in the post

This site is sponsored and produced for the club by

Book Alex Govier on the accordion for that special event in your life or businessYou can Book founder member, club secretary and well-known musician, Alex Govier to provide music for your special event.
With my latest Roland FR 7 I can play even more authentic French or Italian style music to enhance your specially themed occasion, eg for weddings, dinners, commercial promotions etc.

With the new accordion I can tailor not only the tunes and the playing style to these modes but get exactly the right range of accordion sounds of whichever nationality to suit the music.

I accept bookings within 100 miles or so of South Yorkshire or in my native land of Cornwall, where I am often based in Falmouth.

Of course I have sounds also for general or jazz style use, all of them making the most of the music and create the ideal atmosphere for you and your guests. Telephone me on 07769 732287 or go to my website http://www.playing4u.co.uk to find out more
